What is brimstone?

Brimstone (man now calls it "sulfur/sulphur") is a lemon-yellow colored stone. Brimstone means, "burning stone" or, "the stone that burns." When a plain brimstone (like those pictured on this page--note brimstone is not fuzzy on the edges like in this slightly distorted picture, it is smooth.) is exposed to the air, nothing happens--but if a match is put to it, it will burn in a peculiar way, like a liquid fire, and it emits noxious fumes. The stone melts like wax but the dripping is a peculiar thick fire, like a piece of wax on fire. As it burns, it has a rich, fluorescent-type deep colbalt bluish color. It is an interesting, sticky, burning fire. The little drops burn for some time. Ancient peoples sometimes used brimstone as a type of match.
A burning match held under a brimstone causes it to catch on fire. It then melts and drips like wax and gives off fumes that do something to your nostrils--I know because I burned some. It should not be breathed in, it is dangerous. I read on the internet that:
- The fumes from burning sulfur are called sulfur dioxide, SO2. They are "toxic and dangerously irritating, because SO2 reacts with moisture to produce sulfurous acid, H2SO3." [we have plenty of moisture in our mouths, nostrils, and inwards.]
- "Sulphur Dioxide [i]n small quantity...is going to give you a choking feeling and you will not be able to bear it. In excess, IT CAN LEAD TO PERMANENT RESPIRATORY PROBLEMS...[AND] DEATH DUE TO CHOKING..."
Brimstone starts out in the molten rock under the earth's surface. It spews out in the lava of volcanoes and often comes to the surface of the earth from volcanoes and hot springs. Sulfur deposits have been found on the Italian island of Sicily where it lay near the surface of the earth and also Louisiana (USA) deep underground near the Gulf of Mexico. One quote from the internet said, "a hundred years ago, people used to make a suspension of sulfur powder in molasses and drink it as a health tonic." I don't know anything about this type of usage and have not tried it and do not intend to try it in the absence of further pertinent information--and I do not suggest that anyone else try it.
Brimstone/sulfur has many commercial/industrial applications. It is often converted to sulfuric acid which is so widely used that it is known as the "king of chemicals." Brimstone/sulfur is used for things such as fertilizer, car batteries, chemical/petroleum refining, paper, rayon, film, automobile tires, paint, detergents, explosives, matches, food processing (sulfur dioxide in food preservation can be harmful), drugs, and dyes. It is said that sulfur is used at some stage of almost everything we eat, wear, or use. It is used to bleach fabrics. Too much sulfur dioxide in the air can kill people when they breath it in--it causes choking and suffocation. It causes the throat and breathing passages to become irritated and closed up.
BRIMSTONE IN THE AUTHORIZED KING JAMES BIBLE
It is in the Authorized King James Bible that we learn the role of brimstone in eternity. Hell and death and all the wicked are going to be cast into the lake of fire that burneth with fire and brimstone (Rev.21:8). This is the second death. We all have to die the first time--sin requires that--but if a person dies without the Lord Jesus Christ, he will die a second time. The end of time is near. The Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again. Now is the time to get your testimony for the Lord Jesus Christ.
THE BEAST
Before the Lord Jesus Christ comes back, a man that the Bible calls "the beast" is going to arise in the earth. And all the world is going to wonder after him. And BY PEACE he shall destroy many. He may be alive right now. All who worship the beast and receive his mark in their right hand or in their forehead will burn for ever in the lake of fire that burneth with fire and brimstone. He and his false prophet will also be cast into the lake of fire and the devil will be cast in there too.
Revelation 14:9-11 ...If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,Revelation 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
Revelation 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Revelation 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Hell is real and so is the lake of fire that burneth with fire and brimstone. NOW is the time to get your testimony for the Lord Jesus Christ. At this link, you can learn how to get to heaven. If you die unsaved, you will spend eternity in the lake of fire. You need to REPENT of your sins and BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. The Lord Jesus Christ is the author of eternal salvation unto all them that OBEY him (ref. Hebrews 5:9). Heaven is not for the disobedient and unrighteous. It is not for liars, whoremongers, murderers, sodomites, thieves, etc. It is for God and his people. I'm not trying to put anybody down, we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God. All saved people used to be unsaved. We were the liars, whoremongers, sodomites, thieves, etc. but we repented and believed in the blood of Jesus that he shed for our sins so that we could be forgiven. Then the Lord Jesus Christ gave us a whole new life, a clean one, and we purpose to keep his commandments which are found in his holy word, the Authorized King James Bible of 1611. If you are not saved today, you can be saved right now. REPENT and BELIEVE the gospel message that Jesus died for you and rose from the dead on the third day. There is rejoicing in heaven over one sinner that repenteth. Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to God. If you continue in his word then are you his disciple indeed (ref. John 8:31). As the days go by, evil men and seducers are waxing worse and worse deceiving and being deceived. Christians shall be hated of all men, but he that endureth to the end the same shall be saved (ref. Matthew 10:22).
